"Jeweled Sky" Mini Acrylic Paintings for Sale

Left: "Follow Me Into the Night";
Center: "The Night Was Like Jeweled Magic"
Right: "Twilight Garden"

I've been working on a series of 5" x 5" mini paintings I call my "Jeweled Sky" series. I've been playing with dots and connecting them to other shapes. I like this idea of connectivity. When I put the dots and shapes on a black background it reminds me of strands of jewels in the night sky so that is why I call it my "Jeweled Sky" series. The painting runs onto the sides of the canvas so they don't need to be framed.

I will have some of them for sale in my show opening at the Tumalo Art Co. gallery in Bend, OR on Sept. 4th. After I finish a painting, I will scan it so I can make a print of it and then I spray it with a coat or two of gloss acrylic coating to protect it. Below are the paintings which are drying after getting their first coat of spray. Check my Etsy shop in a few days and I will have these images available as prints.

L. Gruger Art Video - Paint the Sky

I've been having fun making art videos so I decided to make one to music! My new art video on youtube uses the song "Paint the Sky" by Darryl Purpose. I LOVE this song and I think it goes really well with the images from my art and scenes from living in Baja for the last couple months.

I've been a Darryl Purpose fan for a very loooong time! I made a painting to this song a few years ago that I titled "Blue is for River". You can see that painting as a print at my Imagekind store. The original is also for sale and I'll put that online at my web site soon! Enjoy the video!

If you're a fine artist and need some help making an art video like this one using your own art and music, send an email to lindy@lgruger.com and I can help you out.

Tiny Art Collection and "Shortpants"

I like tiny art. I've always liked to collect things too. So I've started a Tiny Art Collection of some of my Lyrical World paintings as very small prints. They will fit neatly in your own 5" x 7" frame. The actual image size is 4.6" x 6.7". You can see and purchase the first two at my Imagekind online store. Buy them as a petite print and I suggest the UltraSmooth Fine Art paper as the paper choice. I think it will be fun to have a Tiny Art Print Showcase for you to choose from. I'll be adding images periodically and will keep you updated when I add more.

Speaking of small. Belle and Cody, our two border collies, have befriended the neighbors dog next door to us. His name is Solo but we've started calling him "Shortpants". He is so cute and has the shortest legs when he is standing next to our dogs. I took a photo of him this morning. There's something about his stance. His short little legs and barrel chest that sticks out when he prances about that makes him look like he'd be a great cartoon character.
