Blogging Update and Moonhead Art

 I don't usually post on Blogger but I thought I would do an art update. My regular blog is at https://www.artbylindy.com/blog so that is where you can go to find my latest posts.

My artbylindy.com blog was hacked last year and I lost all of my posts so I am having to start over. Some of my posts will be old ones that I am able to recreate from the Wayback machine.

Right now I am playing with Procreate, which is an illustration program on my ipad. I am having so much fun learning this new program. I am practicing with my Moonhead Mama series. I painted another Moonheadmama painting with Mama Moonhead and baby Milo Moon. I wanted to use soothing ocean colors and show the stars. A segment in the Moonheadmama story has the stars smiling down.

I'm still playing with the story of course. But ideas are coming to me all the time. I write down story notes so I can remember them. The notes are great for when I do my paintings. And that way when the story is written I can refer back to my notes.

Remember a portion of the sales of the Moonheadmama paintings goes to Acres of Hope, a non-profit helping homeless women and children.

Painting No.4 in Moonhead Series

I'm having the best time painting the Moonheadmama paintings. As I paint each painting, the story is formed a little more and a little more. This new painting, #4 in the series, shows Pailey Planet, an angelic, sweet planet playing with the other planets in the celestial sky with Milo Moon. I love the eyelashes on Pailey Planet and the contemplative expression on Milo Moon. I think Pailey has a crush on Milo. I'll have to paint some more of their adventures. Not sure yet what the 5th Moonhead painting will be. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Thanks!

I love what I do! And part of that comes from getting to paint whatever comes into my head. Almost all the images in my paintings come from my imagination. The Moonheadmama series has been mulling around in my head since 2003! And finally I began painting the whimsical, magical Moonheads less than a month ago! Pictured above is the 3rd Moonhead painting. See my other posts for the first 2 or you can see images and read more about their story at www.moonheadmama.com I'm going to write a storybook to go with the images or maybe vice-versa. Whichever comes first is no matter, I just know the story is inside and waiting to be released...in pictures and in words.
